Santa Monica's First CBD Store
We took Life Bloom Organics from digital to IRL.
While our team had already worked hand-in-hand with CBD brand Life Bloom Organics on its rebrand and a major e-commerce launch, there was still something missing: a brick-and-mortar retail flagship, where LBO’s customers could experience new products in person, learn more about the science behind CBD, and really feel like part of the LBO community.
As big fans of touch-and-feel brand activations, we jumped at the chance to bring the LBO brand to life and make history with the first CBD flagship store in Santa Monica, California.
We searched our favorite L.A. neighborhoods until we found the perfect location for the Life Bloom Organics store: a former clothing shop in our dream area (Main Street, Santa Monica – the heart of Dogtown, perfect for a brand that originated in the skate and surf community).
We secured the space, gutted the previous fixtures, and designed and produced custom retail walls to display the full LBO product line (bonus: they could also be crated and used for trade show activations!). We then sourced the perfect decor accessories, designed and produced all wall art and custom signage, set up the store with a credit card processor and POS, and hired and trained a roster of experienced retail staff – all in time for the grand opening.
Everyone was thrilled with the LBO store, from the brand to the neighborhood. The Santa Monica Daily Press quoted the LBO team in an article spotlighting the store: “Santa Monica is the perfect market for Life Bloom Organics. Just blocks from the beach, this location is a lifestyle hub with decades of history in SoCal’s surf and skate community. Having this retail space affords us a great way to meet our customers and provide a space where they can learn about, touch, taste, and experience the products in person. In addition to our targeted, organic CBD-based formulas, the flagship also offers curated lifestyle products and will be collaborating with other retailers and wellness professionals on consumer-facing events.”

The grand opening itself was a huge achievement: not only was Life Bloom the first CBD brand to receive a permit to operate in Santa Monica, but the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce itself came out for the official ribbon cutting. They even brought a brand-new pair of giant scissors for the occasion….
